Three Malawi government fisheries officers and one private sector hatchery operator attended an intensive introduction to advanced tilapia seed production in Thailand. The course was well received and participants returned home with fortified with the knowledge required to begin mass production of tilapia. Training focused on practical aspects of seed production with some study tours to other aquaculture production systems in the central region. Participants were funded by USAID through the Compass II project managed byDevelopment Alternatives Inc. of Washington.
